spoon9001I figure it'd be best if I write it out soon before I forget it all like last year... XD
Day 0
Finish up last minute costume bits, pack like a madman, stress over forgetting crap. Decide that Ari's not gonna get to the house to pick me up until at least noon, so I run to the office and finish my Artist Alley prints. And for the record, none of these last minuters sold. ;_; I was so bummed.
Get back to the house, Ari and her sister arrive, we cram all my luggage into the car, and to quote Laeris (my character), "We go off!"
Hit minimal traffic, get to the hotel, walk to the ACC, get our badge holders (it took longer to walk to the thing than to get the holders <3), and waltz back to the hotel to wait for Check in. Do that, unload, and they take off.
Gainax Boy gets there some time later, unceremoniously flops his crap onto my bed without asking, griping about not wanting to share a bed with a stranger when I had brought the air mattress, and then I set about moving his stuff to the other bed after clearing my luggage off of it after Ari and Taty had for whatever reasons set it down there.
He goes to get his badge holder, never comes back, I find out where David is (In traffic! :D), and eventually Mom and Dad come to get me for the Goo GOo Dolls concert.
The show was awesome, bought more Tshirts, had our view of Johnny and Robby blockaded by these lesbos shaking their asses in front of us 80% of the time, saw most of the Counting Crows, then left before it was too late. Got some water bottles, an ice chest since we had no fridge in the room, and snagged some Taco Bell before going back to the hotel. Folks met David and Gainax Boy and then went home.
We come to find out that the Air mattress requires a pump that I didn't know I had to bring, so David and I agree that we'll just share a bed. We stay up until around 1am, GBoy having gone to sleep around midnight, David working on projects and me finishing up my Maxwell costume, and then go to bed, where we both set about molesting my stuffed bunny. ^^
Day 1
David and I woke up at 6:30 so that we would get a good spot for Artist Alley. Check-in's not until 9, so I drag Maxwell along to finish up my hand stitching while I wait. David catches up, and we sit and wait, all the while chit-chatting about stuff that went on while I was at the show. Not all of it was very comforting... I didn't like coming back to find that things had been removed from my toiletry bag and set around the sink... And I don't mean things like my hairbrush and mousse... *cringe*
9am rolls around, they eventually let us in, we claim our tables, run back to the hotel, go grocery shopping (Cup Noodles, Chef Boyardi, water, soda, and Immodium <3), unload at the hotel, grab our Artist Alley crap and dash back to the show to set up. I missed Opening Cermonies, where Mandy MCed, but she wasn't bummed. Pretty uneventful morning, Ari stopped by to set up her stuff, and after missing the Mana panel I ran off to the Hellsing Gathering, where three people knew who I was, and I got to molest a femme Anderson and faux!waltz with an Integra. ^^ My camera battery was in the hotel, so I didn't get a single picture, much to my chagrin after working so freaking hard on Maxwell. Anyway. Convinced Femme Anderson to join Cosplay.com, and then we part ways after I remember that I can't attend the OVA screening because it conflicts with the Rum Party that I'm staffing for. ;_; Run back to Artist Alley, take a few commissions, the kick us out of the Artist Alley at 8, at which point I give Jason (AAlley staff) a big hug of thanks for all of his hard work, and then I go to the hotel and wait for David. He comes back after 9, and we moan and groan about having not spent a single dime in the dealer's hall. Woe is us. I didn't even get to roam Artist Alley and spend $50. So, after reminding David about the Peek-a-Pooh's I'd introduced him to in November, he and I gallivant over to the hotel lobby in our PJ's and spend $4 in quarters buying more Peek-a-Pooh's and trading them. That was our splurge of the day. XD Fixed Mandy's dress for AX Idol and made plans for breakfast with her.
Day 2
So, it's Sunday, Metal Gear Solid day. Woke up at 6 or 7 and met Mandy at the Jolly Roger Cafe. Talked, bull-shat, blahblahblah'd, then we went back to the hotel to get her dress that I had mended. David and GBoy were up, so I went to the bathroom to change into my costume. All the while, I hear Mandy conversing with the two, GBoy making more lewd comments than he had any room to. Then Mandy pops in on me while I'm half way done changing, blahblah some more, and then she has to leave. She opens the door and sees GBoy there, and says something to the effect of, "I'm waiting for you to stop watching. ô_o" and he responds with, "Oh, it's nothing I haven't seen before! NakedSPOOn.com! :D" Do we laugh? No. I swear, I could hear even David's eyes rolling, and he's on the other side of the room. I saunter out and put my jacket on, grab my heels, and grab my bag before heading out to Artist Alley.
Jen and Tom come by and say Howdy, then Dallas, Alex and Brian, and Dallas and I trade sketches for a bit. ^^ Then they flock off. Ari and Taty came by and took over the table so that I could go shopping with Dallas (at which point, I drop $324.50 at one single booth, and I tote ALL OF THAT MANGA back out of the Exhibit Hall, meet Jen because they found a Chun Li figure, discover I've lost my badge, cock a "WTF" eyebrow at the door guard to let me back in and get the damn thing, because I know EXACTLY where it is, since it only comes off when I bend over, run in, get the Chun Li figure, find my badge, and get back to the table XD), and then Femme Anderson (MoE) dropped by to buy some stuff. I came back to the table, waiting for AX Idol seating, Ari and Taty running off again. MoE comes back, I sign the prints she bought, and then we sit and chat for a while. Time for AX Idol, I run off with Ari and Taty, watch Mandy kick Stephanie's ass in terms of performance, grace, voice... All of it. That's not a personal bias, either. Mandy not only knows what she can sing, she doesn't strive for anything that she can't. Stephanie did just that. o_O;;; Also, Mandy dances better than Gackt, who somehow manages to dance better than Stephanie. Don't ask me HOW. It's a mystery of the universe.
I then run back to my table after Giving Mandy my love from the audience (I must have been the only one to stand up for her ^^;;;), sit for a few, grab my heels and run to the gathering. Mom and Dad show up, so I have them take pictures. Mom said that not only did people not know WTF I was dressed as, but they also vocalized such confusion. XD Much love for Obscure characters. Naomi's not even that obscure. o_O We just never see more than her head in the game. The guys then all want to run off and do pizza, but I had to go back to my table and most regretfully decline. ;_; I spot JenB of AAlley staff and give her a hug of thanks, and then sit back with David. Then it's almost time for the Meet the Guests Reception. Grab my bags, including the 50 pound bag of manga, including my 15 pound man-purse, including my bag of heels, and BUH. Do I have anything for them to sign? NO. Why? Sketchbook is with my art prints, which David has. Yay me. So I lug ALL OF THAT CRAP to the room, wait in line with Mandy, find that I can at least stow my stuff under a table, and then I go sit with Crispin Freeman's table. ^^ Grab a plate full of fruit and cheese since I'm surviving off of French Toast from 8am that morning, and NOTHING ELSE, stuff my face as Crispin proceeds to ask us all our names. XD "Mmf, mmMOOn." Got his autograph, though. He's a real sweetie. ^^ Then we rotate tables. Long story short, we sat with the voice of Tuxedo Mask, Toru Furuya, who was just... To die for. He was blabbering with Mandy about AX Idol and how his manager fell in love and lala, and then he saw my 6 badges around my neck. "Wow. O.O" And then proceeded to examine them. ^^ It was fun hearing him pronounce my name. Too bad Mandy was a butt head and didn't ask him to sign my program guide, instead of JUST HER SHIRT. :bbbbb He liked you. He woulda done it.
Reception's over, I lug all of my crap the half mile back to the hotel, my fingers burning at the joints and wishing SOME KIND SOUL IN A PURPLE DRESS had helped me back to the room.
David comes back in time to help me with my costume, and then I run off to play Nazi Pirate Bartender! MoE came by to see if I really wasn't going to the OVA screening, and I decline, again, because of my committment to Capt. Jack. ._. She goes to watch it and I make a sad face. The party didn't start on time because we were short on staff and rum, so by the time that all arrived, we got things goin'. Games were afoot, Ninjas came by to crash the party and then had the nerve to declare Parlet. D: So, nobody died. We look up to the ACC balcony and see a few other ninja chanting, "Pirates suck! Pirates suck!", and when they start to quiet down with that, I look up and start with, "Jump! Jump! Jump!" and the pirates all join in. XD The ninjas backed down and we resumed our party. ^^
I contine to get hit on by one of the whenches o_O, MoE came back after the OVA and tells me I missed a great showing, we ran out of rum (Why is the rum gone?!), and then the auction started. After an hour or so, we all took a break and MoE and I run back to the hotel because I'm fucking starving XD, I eat my Chef Boyardi while she and I talk on stuff like race, politics, culture... etc., and then we go back to the party. I stuff a large handful of coins into MoE's pocket so that she can bid on me, and then I get up on the auction block after GBoy gives a disgusting introduction of me to the crowd. Yeah, MoE and I didn't like to hear that he and I would uh, be "sleeping together" after the party. So, she bids and fights for me, and I get to be her escort for the evening. ^^ The Party then ends around 3:30, GBoy goes and crashes, we stick around to clean up the place, pass around a bottle of Sparkling cide that proceeds to go up my nose as I take the first sip XD, and then I walk MoE back to her hotel. Go back to the Roger, change for bed, and crawl in beside David. z_z
