I have a little tiny article that I want you to read. I do mean tiny.

FCC’s New 'Diversity Officer' Wants to Force Private Broadcasters to Fund Public Broadcasters Dollar for Dollar.

The "Chief Diversity Officer" in question, Mark Lloyd, is calling for the gross operating budget for every private radio station each year to be the fee (tax) they pay for their broadcast license for the year, with the monies going to the always liberal public stations. With whom they then must compete for listeners.

What that translates to, for those that have never run a business, is, whatever costs it takes for you to run your business (pay checks, bills, insurances) each year, you now have to pay as an annual license fee, which then gets pushed to the pubic stations. AKA, your competition.

So, say I have a radio station. I pay each of my hosts $1000 a year. I have 5 hosts, that's $5000 a year. I pay their insurance. That's another $5000 a year. I have bills to pay, such as electricity and water. That's another $5000 a year. So, I have an annual expense of $15000, just to run my business. Well, I now have to pay DOUBLE that, because my license fee is also $15000, and that second $15000 is going to my competitor.

I ask you: How does one RUN a business with this kind of BS going on?

Answer: One doesn't.

And that's the point.

Lloyd's instructions to Leftist activists are clear: use the FCC to pummel conservative talk radio. With fines, or entirely out of existence.

I know, I know. Evil conservatives. They need to just get out of the way, anyway.

Let me remind you of a little document, you might have heard about it: THE BILL OF RIGHTS, and in it our First Amendment, the RIGHT to free speech, free press, free religion, and last but not least, freedom of dissent, which Hilary Clinton herself pointed out is something that is very American, and is not to be snuffed out.

But who is John Galt?

Freedom of dissent has always been my favorite, given that it's easy to pretend to believe whatever the state shoves at you.

And, really. Why talk radio? It's so easy to switch stations. I am not only outraged but confused.

In short? People like Rush Limbaugh. They want to silence anyone getting in their way.

I'm having a hard time taking that article seriously at all, as it and every other one like it that I've found are all on right-wing news websites and blogs. Actually, I don't even see that precise claim anywhere else. I'm pretty sure it's based on an out-pf-context quote from something he wrote at least two years ago.

All signs point to diversion tactic, if you ask me- conservatives are trying to nail him because he wants to instate something similar to the Fairness Doctrine. I suggest checking out the the links at the bottom of this article for more on that issue.

Personally, I highly doubt the the levels upon levels of bureaucracy that an agency such as the FCC possesses would ever allow him to implement is more extreme ideas. :)

Tl;dr I am liberal and here are my thoughts on yaoiconservative news media.

Point taken, and I'll concede that my source for the information was elsewhere; the article was the best I could dig up regarding the news segment. In said segment, it was pointed out that there was no immediate danger, as it's illegal, it's unconstitutional, and Lloyd will be spending a good deal of time researching for loopholes.

Now, alternatively, one can argue that any major left-wing source wouldn't talk about it because they hate Conservative radio and want it gone. ;) Whereas the more moderate ones simply might not have heard of it.

And the last 20 years have been a diversion tactic. >>;;
